Hey there food fans! It’s Friday!

(Food is my first favorite F word)

Hope everyone has been having a great week. And if you haven’t, well, cheer up because it’s almost over.

So, back by popular demand today is Bevan:

Bevan!

Bevan!

Bevan, of Bevan’s Beverages (not a real store yet, but soon will be) makes the best, most delicious, healthiest smoothies you could possibly dream of.

Unfortunately, however, this post comes with some bad news: Bevan’s dad is in the hospital. Everybody please send your good thoughts and prayers to Mr. Mahaney!

But there is still a silver lining to this story: The other day as Mr M was coming out of surgery, Bevan showed up at the hospital with Soul Strength smoothies for her mom and dad. She said that even though her dad wasn’t supposed to have any food the hospital didn’t first sign off on, he instantly improved after drinking this smoothie. It brightened his mood, his outlook improved and as Bevan said, “it was cool and easy on the throat and even easier on the soul.”

It’s amazing what the power of food made with love can do :)

 Soul Strength Smoothie

frozen pineapple

frozen banana

frozen blueberries

2 cups of coconut water

1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (vegaone)

1/2 scoop tropical protein powder (vegaone)

1 tablespoon maca powder

Blend it all up and voila, SMAGIC! (yeah that word is here to stay)

What’s your favorite feel-good food?

What are you looking forward to doing this weekend??

25 Thoughts on “Foodstuff Friday: Soul Strength Smoothie

  1. I love smoothies, especially in the summer, after a long run or ride. If I’ve worked out really hard, I’ll add in a scoop of ice craddeam to make it extra creamy & delicious. Oh who am I kidding? Workout not necessary for ice cream addition! Looking forward yo gamily fun & cake smashing as we continue my daughter’s 1st bday celebration this w/e!

  2. I hope Bevan’s dad heals quickly!

My favorite feel good food is Greek yogurt mixed up with my homemade granola. So delicious. This weekend I have to charity walks, the MS Walk on Saturday and Walk for Autism on Sunday. I’m going to try and fit in a 8 mile run one of those days too :)

  3. I hope that Bevan’s dad has a speedy recovery!
I’m so happy that the weather is getting warmer so we’re getting back into smoothie weather. Easily becomes my favourite breakfast or snack in the summer!

  4. Hoping and praying for a quick recovery for Mr. Mahaney!

My favorite feel-good food is probably almond butter. There’s just something about the creaminess and the nuttiness. Or the typical classic, ice cream, hehe. :)

  5. That’s too bad about Bevan’s dad. Sending thoughts and prayers you’re way, for sure!

I’m a cereal fiend! Right now it seems to be all about the raisin bran and vanilla almond milk. SO. GOOD. :)

  6. Hey thank you everyone! I really appreciate your warm thoughts. I’ll will pass them on to my dad today! I woke up and took an extra shot of BrainOn, my favorite blue green algae shot. I’m hoping it will help brighten the mood. Also I agree, almond butter is a supreme comfort food. Good food helps so much! xox

  7. Keeping him in my thoughts. <3
That smoothie looks wonderful – I can believe it helped with his improvement!

  8. Prayers for Bevan’s dad!
I’m actually looking forward to popcorn as my feel-good food this weekend. Popcorn to me means relaxation, movie night, feet up, clean kitchen… and maybe a cold beverage… because IT IS FRIDAY after all!

  9. Thinking of Bevan’s Dad and her family…
That smoothie sounds great. HO wis it I’ve never heard of tropical protein powder?! I definitely need to get some of that!
    I didn’t work today, so I think I was/am most looking forward to a three-day weekend!

    • Ah I’m so jealous 3-day weekends are the best. vega makes tropical powders for smoothies with 10g of protein, which is obviously less than most powders, but it tastes really good:)

  10. That sounds delicious! I’m saying a prayer for their family. My favorite feel-good foods are oatmeal and fresh fruit!

  11. Definitely have to try putting pineapple in my smoothies. This sounds really good. I hope Bevan’s dad recovers quickly! Fresh fruit is probably the best feel good food. My favourites are mangoes, strawberries and watermelon.

  12. Yum! That smoothie sounds delicious, I’ve been totally craving smoothies again with the nice weather coming up. Only problem is I ran out of frozen bananas! I stocked up at the store this weekend though so smoothies will be back in my life soon :)

    • Haha I feel your pain! My boyfriend and I actually had the exact same problem earlier today when we were experimenting with more smoothies. We ended up just adding more mangoes and some yogurt for texture and it turned out really good.
