Happy Thursday!

Man alive I’m happy it’s almost the weekend. I have spent this week with my nose glued to my iphone. Nope, not because I’m that popular. Nope, not because I’ve been sending scandalous photos to people on Snapchat. It’s because I have been playing Candy Crush Saga.

I didn’t even know this game existed until last weekend when Eric mentioned it’s sweeping the world and officially more popular than Angry Birds.

And I didn’t even download it until the lovely Amanda mentioned it in her post on Monday and I was like “huh, let’s see what all the fuss is about. It can’t possibly be as addicting as Angry Birds.”

You guys.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, download it. Give it a whirl. Warning: Crack is less addicting.

I would make this intro longer, but I’m candy crushing it at the moment, and I don’t want to lose my groove.

  1. Interesting. I never got into the Angry Birds thing and I think I’ve missed the mark on this. I may check it out on the Android store, I have no iPhone. :) I am addicted to Words With Friends (I’m ancient, I know) and that’s about it. I don’t have the patience do anything other than stalk people on Instagram and Facebook on my phone! Oh, and of course, blog! Have a great day!

    • ok so i just responded to you but then my internet hiccuped and it doesnt look like the comment went through… however, since i now have my comments emailed, its possible you already got a response… if not, long story short- i LOVE words with friends too, candy crush is like crack so maybe its mean of me to endorse it, hope you’re having a spectacular day!

  2. Duuuuude! So I was up at 5 AM playing Candy Crush this morning 😆 We’re talking like… before I even bothered to get out of bed… first thing I did was grab the phone and play. I may need an intervention soon. And the worst part is, that the higher up in levels you get, the more addicting and infuriating it becomes. And the music? Gah! I had to turn off the music because it was seriously messing with me… I’d hear it even when I wasn’t playing 😆
Amanda @ .running with spoons. recently posted…. WIAW … meals? what are them? .My Profile

    • UM TOTALLY- one of my original points in this list was “its the thing that gets you out of bed in the morning.” no joke, i did NOT want to wake up yesterday but i was like “oh! i have all my lives back!” and i jumped out of bed. i turned the music off because it was messing with my focus :)

  3. Thank you for the cautionary countdown! I’ve never played games on my smartphone (no iPhone here, rockin’ it with an Android), and I think it’s best if I don’t start. There are already too few hours in the day for this busy mama, and blogging has already put a significant dent in my leisure time (aka multitasking at work). Plus, my house is a mess, so I need to devote some time to pushing the dirt and dust around to new, less noticeable locations!

    • yeah, do not download this game. it will be a new time suck and it sounds like you dont have time for one of those. (although who does really?!) BUT if you ever find yourself totally bored (i know, when pigs fly) but if pigs ever do fly- download this game first :)

  4. I. Am. Hooked. As in, I actually have reached that level where I PAY to add extra lives. I can’t let myself do it anymore because I’m spending too much money on the dumb game. But it’s not dumb, it’s actually the most awesome game EVER. Oh my gosh I’m on level 44 right now and I’ve been playing for 3 days… I have a problem.
    pickyrunner recently posted…FrustrationsMy Profile

    • oh my gosh you’re so good! i started monday and I’m on level 32. when i first downloaded it I was like “ha i’ll NEVER pay for lives!!” and i still havent paid yet but i’m probably about a day away from “take all my money i need the lives!!” best. game. ever.

  5. wtfffffffffff?? I have been hearing about this game like CRAZY, it’s all over my Facebook, so I finally downloaded it, literally, last night. I played through the first 12ish levels and when I went to bed (because I wasn’t gonna wait for more lives) I SAW THE CANDY WHEN I CLOSED MY EYES.

One of the trickier things about the game is that it hides your clock, so you have no idea how long you have been playing or what ungodly hour it is 😛

    • Lol- its. such. a. time. suck. its SO easy to get lost in it, until you run out of lives and then essentially you’re just biding your time until you have a new life. i dont know how they made this game so freaking amazing, but it’s amazing :)

  6. Ah, I think you may of just gave me the final push to download candy crush. Not sure if I should thank you right now or not? Ha Ha!

  7. Oh my goodness I downloaded it when Amanda wrote about it, too! “You only pay attention to people in 25 minute increments while you wait for more lives.” –> YES. Last night, our internet was down and our power was out (Ohio had some CRAZY weather–we even had a tornado warning!), and my sister and I sat in our basement, me on my phone and her on her iPad, playing Candy Crush for an hour till the tornado warning went away. So. Dang. Addicting.

    • I know- a week ago I would have been like “i dont have time for this” amazingly it sneaks its way up to being the #1 priority in your life. this game is like crack, maybe dont download it… :)

  12. This is so funny. I have never played Candy Crush and I don’t plan to because it seems like it could be related to crack for its addiction level. They must have done something right bc it is extremely popular!

  14. Ha, I have avoided all Candy Crush games/apps for this very reason. I just KNOW if I started I would be hooked instantly. Lol. Almost everyone I know absolutely loves it and is very much addicted though, so you’re def. onto something cool. 😉

  16. Candy Crush is SOOOOO addicting. It’s usually the last thing I do before bed and first thing I do when I wake up… How sad….
My friend told me about it and I now I can’t do anything but crush candy and think about crushing candy….

    • hahaha yup SAME. I swear the other morning i did NOT want to get out of bed but then I remembered I had 5 full lives and I dove out of bed for my phone. haha so sad :)

  17. It took so long to download I didn’t have time to play, I will today rather than reading for class Saturday I’m sure… I TOTALLY know what you mean about seeing the pieces when you blink! I was chronically addicted to SNOOD in high school and I’d just see snoods floating around the halls at school, I’d chase them on the track field and avoid them driving!
    Christine recently posted…Race NightMy Profile

    • omg i LOVED snood in high school!! my mom had it on her computer up until she got a new one a few years ago and i would always sit there playing. i LITERALLY thought of snood too as i was crushing candy. its almost therapeutic as everything on the board gets cleared out- same thing with snood.

  18. I never understood what Angry Birds was all about and then I got addicted. So – I will not download this game for fear of exactly what you’re going through right now – HA! Clearly I have a bit of an addictive personality. Number 5 made me LOL and now I want to do it to my phone.

  19. Sounds dangerous!!
I’ve never played it! Truthfully, I’ve never played Angry Birds either! Or gotten addicted to any phone game.
Thank goodness I’ve never tried any, otherwise I’m sure I’d be playing instead of sleeping!

  21. LOL. This post. Yep, I can officially be diagnosed with a candy crush addiction.

  22. Ugh, this thing has (off and on) ruled my life for the last 2 months (maybe more?). I’m in the 150s now and waaaayyyy too proud of myself for that. Whenever I beat a level, I end up saying YES! and raising my fist in the air.. and the boyfriend gets ready for a fist bump immediately. I’m glad he understands how important it is to me bahaha.
