Two posts in a week!

proud of myself

I understand this is not cause for celebration for many of you prodigious superheros who have been consistently publishing 15-50 posts per month for years. However, I’m as excited as a toddler who just potty trained herself. “Look what I did!”

Top 8 emotions you have before returning to blogging

8. Social Anxiety: Do you think anyone remembers me?

7. Trepidation: What if I forget how to blog good?

6. Meditative: Wait, did I ever know how to blog good?

5. Denial: Do I have to sign up for Twitter this time

4. Philosophical: If a post goes out into the internet, and nobody is there to read it, does it make an echo?

3. Totally Energized: Ok, I’m doin’ it! Here we go… What should I write about?

2. Writers Block: [Stares at blank screen, blinks twice, gets a snack]

1. Apprehensive Satisfaction: I just wrote a post that used the word “snausages” and then, against my better judgement, hit Publish.

And that’s how that happens.

If you’ve been out of the blogging game for a while and you’re thinking of coming back (or you’re starting up for the first time) all you have to do is hit Publish. 😀

Have you ever taken a blog break? How long were you away?

How was it when you came back?

  4. Welcome back friend! Hmmm I think the longest break I’ve taken was a week? Maybe two weeks around the holidays? It was nice to unplug for a bit but I feel like if I took more time off I’d have too much free time on my hands and go crazy haha. <<sad problem to have, I know.

  5. what the whaaaaaat??? TWO posts this week, one right after the other?? i had to do a doubletake at the date when i read it.

i’ve been a shitty blogger lately but all because of work. i’m surrounded by idiots so the last thing i want to do when i get home is stare at a computer screen. also, it gets in the way of wine o’clock time.

    welcome back!!!

  6. I’m so glad you’re back! I take breaks on vacation and over the holidays, but the most has been a couple weeks. I take sporadic breaks during the week, though. As much as I try to post Mon-Fri, sometimes I just don’t have anything to say, so I skip that post!

  7. Welcome back, my friend! We’ve missed you!! After a year of very consistent blogging, I’ve been a crap blogger lately. My real job – the one that pays – has been crazy, so unfortunately my writing has taken a hit. But, you’re absolutely right, all you have to do is hit Publish, and you’re back in the game.

  8. I’m on a bit of a blogging break right now. There’s just too much going on in our lives to focus on the blog, so it has to go on the back burner for a bit. Blogging is fun, but definitely can get to be overwhelming too and besides, life comes first!

    • Yeah it’s all about priorities, and I’m learning the blog will always be here when you’re ready to come back. Although don’t you dare stay away as long as I did :)

  9. I think the longest break I’ve taken was maybe about 4-5 days? Buuuut as soon as I’m actually a working adult, that may change 😉

    • Natalie!!!! ahhh I’m so psyched about your comment! BM is great, I’m still obsessed too. it’s completely addictive right?! Hope all is well!! we need a real catch up sometime soon!

  11. I’ve taken multiple blog breaks, only once intentionally. I haven’t posted since last week, oooooops #rebelstatusoverhere

  12. I nearly fell over when I saw your comment on my blog this morning! Welcome back, for however long! I have been so curious for a while as to whether or not you found the job you were looking for, how you’ve been, what funny things you’ve got swirling around your head that you need to share with us… Longest blogging break I’ve ever taken was about 4 days, but I have a feeling that once I start school, I am going to have to adjust my schedule as well!

  14. Welcome back girl! We missed you. :)

I took an entire month off while I was getting married/honeymooning and that has been the longest stretch yet. It went by so fast that it only felt like I took a week off.

I’m sure it feels weird to be back after so long but after a month or two, it will be just like it was before!

    • Omg- I don’t remember if I commented but I absolutely stalked your wedding posts when I saw them pop up in my email- and you were the most gorgeous bride- the whole thing just looked so magical! Hope the honeymoon was fantastic as well!!

  15. I took a blogging break for abouuttttttt… 9 months?… and it was hard as hell to come back, especially since I kind of just stopped blogging one day without telling anyone why. Oops. Awkward. But after a few weeks (!!!) you start to fall into the groove again, so you’d better plan on staying around for that long!!!

My longest break was a couple of weeks this past Feb. Dealing with a big, scary life change (that’s now an awesome change I’m looking forward to) led me to step back a while.

  18. OMG what a pleasant surprise to see you back blogging, Charlotte :) :)! Like you I took a blogging break for about 5 months (Nov – April) & I’m not going to lie- I enjoyed it. Unsurprisingly the itch to blog did come back but I’ve taken a much more laid back approach it- i.e. not blogging just because it’s X day!
