Thinking Out Loud Thursday and the Top 8 List really is a hybrid made in heaven. In a sense I’ve just been ranking my thoughts from 1-8 this whole time- what do they call it when two things come together so well? Fate? Serendipity? Magic? Yes to all of the above.

There is a new app called Emojli. Have you heard of it? It’s not out yet, but they already have tens of thousands of pre-registered users. All communication is restricted to emojis. Your username? Strings of emojis. Your Thoughts? Emoji-fied. Your really important emergency messages- well, if your friends can decipher your emojis, everything will be ok.

Which brings me to my next point. Emojis are limited in what they can convey and sometimes hard to decipher  -__-

So I’ve made my own* emojis to deal with real life circumstances.

(*I drew them on post-its.)

  1. Since when was Char replaced with a modern day Picasso?

Those emoticons are spot on and while I will NOT be joining an all emoticon site, if you had one via post it notes, I’d be the first one.

  2. Eeee these are too awesome! I can definitely relate to the cake-in-conference-room emoji 😉 Seriously though sometimes it scares me when I cant end a sentence without a winking smile (like then). If I did that IRL I’m pretty sure I’d be sectioned… 😉

  3. My biggest beef in blogging and leaving comments online is that there are no Emojis. I need my heart-eyed face! And laughing till I cry face! I mean… how else am I supposed to accurately express myself?! Oh, and the healthy lifestyle emoji guy is looking -far- too happy. Where are the tears? 😛

    • Hahaha i realized the healthy eating one looked a little too jazzed about that pear a little too late :) and i know- my texts are a jumbled mess of heart-eye faces, monkeys covering their ears, this guy in yellow face form: -___- etc etc

  4. i’m a fan of gifs; i think they can perfectly portray an event, feeling or both! and seriously, we’re making our younger generation SO lazy with this and then we’ll turn around and tell them to work for what they want.

    • ooohhh if there was a person who could make it easy to insert gifs in my text messages, i would just wipe my knowledge of language from my mind to make room for all the gifs i would use at precisely the right moments.

  5. Why there must be something wrong with the clothes sizing in this store, DAMN IT! Love your post today!

  7. I love emojis–love–but I don’t think I could have a whole conversation with them. Well, unless I had a lot of time on my hands then maybe.

  11. I think these post it works of art need their own emoji app – maybe you could call it the Charmoji app?
Yes – am guilty of emoji usage – but wordpress plugins are not the most fluent in emojinese – maybe Charmoji can be made into a plugin too?
