How long have you been blogging?

On your blog, do you ever find that the posts you personally love sometimes don’t do as well as others you’re kinda “meh” on?

Do you track your stats or do you not even look at them?

36 Thoughts on “Vintage Commitness

  1. … I on borderline status that I’ve read (and remembered) all those posts?

I need to go through my archives and it’s so true- some of my favourite ones were the least read (based on the comments…I write a serious post about food obsessions or something, use an oatmeal picture and the comments are ‘omg I love oatmeal love the recipe). Twat.

  5. YES! Some of my “best” posts end up being the ones that I kind of threw together haphazardly, and then the ones I put my heart and soul into are like… meh. Maybe this means I need to start half-assing everything? 😉

  7. Haha I love the post “Thanks For the Spoon, But I Brought My Own Shovel.” I realllly need to work on that too – I eat so fast sometimes and then I either a) feel sick or b) think I’m still hungry when I’m not. But food is just so GOOD!

  8. Hey, first off all get that head screwed on properly again! Since I’m new here, basically I have a dozen posts to read. Thanks for destroying my productivity for a while now.

  9. That happens to me so much – I’ll half-ass a post, and people absolutely love it. I’ll put a lot of time and effort into a post, and I’ll get nothing back on it. Oh blogging, you are a mystery.

  11. I completely think that some posts are amazing and am so excited about them and then I get a kind of lackluster response. While other posts I took two seconds to throw together end up being hits. I have no idea! But if I can discern a pattern, I’ll have the key to success…maybe.

I’m always surprised at which posts seem to do better than others – I’ve given up trying to predict!!!

  13. It always surprises me which posts rack in the most traffic/comments…especially as they tend to be the ones that I bust out without a blink of an eye! Maybe it’s a sign I need to stop overthinking some of my posts!!

  14. I hope your brain recovers quickly. I hear it’s an important organ.

On a side note, you amuse me to no end, and I’m thrilled I found your blog.

On a blog note, which is totally different than a side note, I do check my stats, religiously although I try not to let them drive what I do, especially since I cannot predict what people will or will not like. Crazy.

  15. Everyone I know thinks I am totally extroverted but honestly, I may be more of an INTROVERT! I keep to myself when I work out, hate work out classes, etc… And I LOVE staying in at night! HA HA!

  17. Now I need to get another cup of coffee and stalk out your other posts – I dont remember reading every one of them – but then your hilarious content distracts me from your headlines…
Yes, a lot of posts I personally love sometimes don’t do as well as others – but oh well – I’ve been on this rodeo for slightly over a year so loads to learn right?!
I do track my stats – been trying to monetize a tad and most companies ask about my stats.

  18. I worry that I obsess about my stats, but it seems like I can’t really do anything beyond the basics to influence them. I’ve been blogging regularly for a little more than a year now.

And, it looks like I’m like a lot of your commenters where some of my favorite posts get the least attention. But people like lists of reasons why I have a love/hate my boobs, or eighteen ways my kids are assholes, stuff like that. Sometimes it impacts my enthusiasm for writing.

Thanks for the index of your good stuff. Looks like I have a full evening ahead of me!
